Recently, the National Standardization Management Committee announced that five types of household electrical appliances such as inverter air conditioners, flat panel TVs, washing machines, air-powered water heaters and range hoods will begin implementing new energy efficiency standards as of October 1, with the implementation of new standards. The "old standard" appliances in the store also set off a wave of price cuts.
Old standard home appliances set off prices
Recently, the reporter visited GOME, Suning, Dazhong and many home appliance stores found that the store has been difficult to find high energy consumption products. Taking the hot summer air conditioning as an example, many air conditioners have been affixed with new energy consumption standards and energy consumption levels. Generally below the third level, and in order to meet the new energy consumption standard, many old standard appliances have set off a wave of price cuts.
For example, the original price of Sanyo's “Old Standard” is 5,699 yuan, and its energy consumption level is three. However, due to the suspension of production of old standard products, it is now 2,600 yuan cheaper.
"The original secondary energy consumption standard is now the lowest threshold of inverter air conditioners, and the old three-level inverter energy efficiency products are no longer produced and sold, so now these 'old standard' things to buy are particularly cost-effective." Gome air-conditioning sales staff to The reporter introduced.
Subsequently, the reporter also compared a variety of air-conditioning found that the new standard air conditioning prices are generally 6000-8000 yuan, and some similar old standard air-conditioning, but basically hit 5 fold. "I think the old standard new standard is similar, and the favorable air-conditioning price is enough to fill the electricity bill." A consumer who just sold "old standard" air-conditioning said.
According to Ovid Consulting's data, during the 25th week, the average price of air conditioners was 3,258 yuan, which was 6.1% lower than the previous week, and the price of energy-saving products market also fell sharply. The average retail price of fixed-frequency air conditioners was 2,740 yuan, a decrease of 1.1 percentage points from the previous month. The average retail price of variable frequency air conditioners was 4,331 yuan, a decrease of 8.0 percentage points from the previous quarter.
New energy standard
Improve the threshold of energy-saving appliances
The new energy standard has raised the threshold for energy-saving appliances. For example, the new standard requires that, in normal working conditions, a Class 1 energy-conserving pulsator washing machine consumes an average of no more than 0.011 degrees of electricity and a maximum of 14 liters of water in one cycle. The requirement for a Class 1 energy-consumption drum washing machine is that the average electricity consumed in completing one cycle does not exceed 0.11 degrees and the maximum amount of water used is 7 liters.
In terms of air-conditioning, the first-level and second-level energy-efficiency air-conditioning levels will be automatically reduced by one level, respectively to level 2 and level 3, and a higher standard level 1 energy efficiency level will be added.
The number of energy efficiency levels for flat-panel TVs is unchanged and is divided into 3 levels. Among them, the energy efficiency index of the Class 1 LCD TV was increased from 1.4 to 2.7, and the energy efficiency index of the Class 1 plasma TV also increased from the original 1.2 to 2.0. The energy efficiency indices of Class 2 and 3 of LCD TVs and plasma TVs have all doubled.
The range hood energy efficiency rating is reclassified to level 5. Energy efficiency is graded in terms of total pressure efficiency, standby power, shutdown power, and normal odor reduction. Among them, the energy efficiency at level 1 is the highest. Heat pump water heaters (air energy heaters) classify energy efficiency into five levels, with the highest level of energy efficiency.
At present, inverter household appliances, flat panel TVs and washing machines have already implemented energy efficiency standards. The range hoods and heat pump water heaters are the first to formulate and implement energy efficiency standards.
The new national standard has increased the access threshold for energy-saving appliances, which means that the original two-level variable-frequency energy efficiency products have been downgraded into market access thresholds, and according to regulations, the old three-level variable-frequency energy efficiency products will not be allowed to be reproduced and sold. The current product will be digested by months ago.
Industry sources said that in accordance with the new standards, it is expected that more than 30% of frequency conversion 3 air-conditioning products will face out, at least 60% of the drum washing machine products will be delisted, more than half of the Washing Machine will not be able to sell in the future, about 20% of the heat pump water heater products Encountered elimination.
Analyze market uncertainty in the second half of the year
With regard to the price reduction of old standard appliances, industry insiders analyzed that the reason why air-conditioning manufacturing companies vigorously clean their inventory is to prepare for the new standard of air-conditioning energy efficiency that will be implemented in October of this year and the “energy-saving leader system” that may be launched. It will help to rearrange production and shipments in the new season. However, in the second half of 2013, the air-conditioning market entered a period of in-depth adjustment, and the third quarter may return to a low point. The market prospects for new energy targets are not optimistic.
Liang Zhengtian, an industry online analyst, believes that the improvement of new energy efficiency standards will help promote the upgrading of energy-saving products. In the long run, it is beneficial for the industry to eliminate backward production capacity, but in the short term, it also puts some pressure on companies with old product inventory.
For the industry trend in the second half of 2013, Peng Yi, vice president of Yikang, analyzed that: “Although the sales of home appliances in the first two quarters of 2013 were better than last year, the overall market is not driven by the pull, especially with the exit of energy-saving products and Huimin project. As the housing market continues to be limited, the market tightening in the second half of the year may show a trend of low growth, and there may be relative promotion of some promotional activities of manufacturers and stores.”
